Day of the Match - A Harlequins

Saints extended their winning streak to nineteen games with a somewhat less than perfect performance on a ground that they had been white hot on just six short weeks ago. In fact, it’s fair to say that the first half was just about Saints worst forty minutes of rugby of the season before they turned it around with a much improved second half, to post a flattering winning margin.

REDVEE UPDATE: SLXIII Round 25 Preview - Quins (A)
The Saints have battered the Quins twice this season already. Can we make it a third or will the Quins put up a better resistance or even upset the applecart and sneak a win?

Gidley signs one year extension
Saints Centre Matt Gidley has signed an extension to his current deal keeping him at the club for another season. Gidley who was out of contract at the end of the year has signed a new one year deal which will run out at the end of 2009.
This is great news for the club and means only one Centre will have to be replaced for now with Talau expected to leave. Gidley has scored 23 tries in 60 games for the Saints and has had an excellent season, forming an excellent partnership with Ade Gardner

Sculthorpe Move to Salford Denied

Saints have this afternoon denied reports from today's Guardian Newspaper that skipper Paul Sculthorpe has signed for Super League new boys, the Salford City Reds, on a two year deal from the end of the season.
Nevertheless, it seems highly unlikely that Sculthorpe will still be with the club next season and it would appear an 11 year association with the club is about to end.

Day of the Match - H Warrington

How much must they hate us? And, to be fair, they’d have good reason. Once again Saints have beaten their “bitter” rivals and, not for the first time, Saints did it from position where the Wire looked set to finally register a win over the Saints with just a few minutes to go but Lee Gilmour’s equalising converted try and Sean Long’s sensational last gasp, long range, drop goal, broke the Warrington hearts and we had done it yet again and, you know what, I almost did feel just a little bit sorry for them out there because it was a game that they simply did not deserve to lose. Hey ho!

Nick has given Saints five seasons of wonderful service and I am sure he goes with the best wishes of all here at Redvee.
