This season we’ll be running a weekly betting column on the website, as we attempt to help you beat the bookies! It’d be quite simple to just pick the outright winners in games, so we’re going to make it a bit harder by tipping with the Handicaps!
We’ll keep a track record of our picks – so we can see how we’ve done over the course of the season – think you can do better? Let us know who’ve you’ve got on the forum!
Short week this week as we take in two early Round 11 fixtures due to forthcoming Challenge Cup Commitments!
Thursday
Huddersfield Giants -6 v Salford Red Devils
Huddersfield went someway to erasing the memories of 2016 with a 28-16 away win over Widnes last week, proving they are more than capable of posting points on the board. This week they open their home account against a Salford side who received a mauling at home to Wigan last week. Don’t be fooled by the scoreline – Wigan were 26-0 up before easing their foot off the gas with this week’s World Club Challenge game to look forward to. Take Huddersfield with the -6 handicap
Pick: Huddersfield -6
Leigh Centurions +10 v Leeds Rhinos
I expect Leigh to have learned a few lessons from the harsh awakening to life in Super League at Castleford, so expect defence to be tighter this week, with less penalties. Leeds on the other hand looked blunt in attack v Saints, so a double digit start away to a side who will be pumped with adrenaline playing their first Super League game for 12 years looks optimistic. Take the points!
Pick: Leigh +10

Pick: Salford +8 (Actual Result: Salford 16-26 Wigan) – LOSS
Pick: Catalans +2 (Actual Result: Catalan 20-12 Warrington) – WIN
Pick: Wakefield +6 (Actual Result: Wakefield 8-12 Hull FC) – WIN
