Last week we were 50% on the 2 Super League fixtures, so stayed in the Black for year – can we improve upon it this week? Looks to be a few good opportunities to help stay ahead of the Bookies this week….
Hull v Catalans +10
Picking Catalans away from home is always a tricky one, and facing a Hull FC side opening up their season at the KC Stadium is always going to be difficult. However Catalans will be buoyed by their opening win against Warrington, and should be a strong proposition for most this year – at least in the first half of the season before the end of season meltdown.
A ten point start seems big in a game that could go either way though, so he French side it is!
Pick: Catalans +10
Huddersfield v Wakefield +10
We got our fingers burnt backing Huddersfield in week 1, whilst Wakefield did the business in keeping the game close v Hull. This could be the game where Wakefield register their first win – so a ten point start is a gimme.
Pick: Wakefield +10
Leeds v Salford +10
We may have been a little harsh on Salford last week, as they showed some decent battling quality v Huddersfield, and against a Leeds side who look likely to struggle all
season, we’ll side with Salford – though Leeds should sneak the win.
Pick: Salford +10
Leigh +12 v St Helens
Saints have the benefit of a week off, but Leigh may be more game ready as they came close last week. As Saints attack is stuttering, will we score often enough to overcome a 12 point handicap? If Leigh cross for a couple of tries, then it’s worth taking Leigh on the handicap.
Pick: Leigh +12
Warrington v Castleford +4
We’re still fully fledged members of the Castleford bandwagon, and after a week off the Yorkshire side will be all the better for it against a tired Wire side still celebrating winning a trophy a friendly against the Brisbane Broncos.
We expect Castleford to win outright… so take the +4 start on offer
Pick: Castleford +4
Wigan v Widnes +18
Ordinarily I’d take Wigan every day of the week, but despite Widnes missing their half backs, I just can’t back them knowing they’re coming on the back of a short turnaround and likely to have celebrated half the week. Even if they go to the South Stand bar for a Pint and a Pie and Peas, they’ll win this against an abject Vikings side… but will they ease off late in the game as they did at Salford? Possibly so, so we’ll play it safer and go with the Chemics.
Pick: Widnes +18

Last Week
Pick: Huddersfield +6 (Actual Result: Huddersfield 20-30 Salford) – LOSS
Pick: Leigh +10 (Actual Result: Leigh 14-17 Leeds) – WIN
